Different Types of Virtual Assistant Services
Virtual assistants do a broad range of services and tasks for business owners and self-employed professionals.
There are many things you could find yourself doing for different clients.
Here are some different types of virtual assistant services.
1. Social Media Management
Social media management is something that a lot of businesses need, and you can find a lot of people willing to hire you regardless of experience level.
If you have experience in social media marketing/management that’s a bonus. Chances are, though, you have enough experience of the platforms themselves to understand how to manage an account for a brand.
Getting paid to keep a client’s Instagram running is not exactly a bad deal.
2. Sickness Cover
People get sick and this can’t be avoided.
Whenever a business finds that their employees have gone off sick, it’s a problem. They know that they can’t afford to have that work go un-done, but they can’t force the employee to work through it.
This is where you (could) come in.
Having experience in the areas the business needs you to cover is crucial, of course, but this gets easier over time as you build up a wider skillset.
While this is temporary work, often this can lead to retainer contracts down the line.
3. Data Entry
Data entry is one of those tasks that employees love to get out of doing. In fairness, it can be a monotonous job for most people.
However, if you find that you don’t mind doing something like data entry - you’ll have fun providing this for clients as one of your virtual assistant services.
And if you have experience in this (maybe some admin in a previous job you had?) then even better.
4. Document Production
If you have experience in creating legal documents, you may find yourself in high demand in your virtual assistant endeavours.
Companies live-and-breathe legal documents, and finding the right people to create this with all legal based covered is not easy.
Document production is a bit more of a technical/niche service, but one that could net you some big money if you’re able to provide it to clients.
5. Customer Service
Many businesses out there just don’t have the capital to hire anyone permanently to handle their customer service.
However, no e-Commerce business can overlook this aspect.
In which case, you could fill in and provide the customer service they need on a freelance basis. If you find that you’re naturally quite a bubbly person and have had experience in customer-based service roles in the past, you’d likely be able to provide this type of service to your clients.
Build a Wide Base of Skills as a Virtual Assistant
There are so many different types of services you can offer to people as a virtual assistant, not just the ones listed here.
The reason it’s never too late to become a VA is because of the broad range of services the industry covers. If you’ve had jobs in the past, some aspect of it will translate into your work as a VA.
Which is really quite cool, because it means that despite being a new career for you, you won’t feel as out-of-depth as you’d maybe expect.
But you won’t know unless you get started!
